aims and objectives of
SIAGRO 2008 are:
- To develop and promote
agriculture, horticulture,
stock breeding and fishing
in Africa namely:
- agricultural production,
mainly in relation to
the major products mentioned
above ;
- new agricultural and
production methods such
as organic farming;
- stock breeding and
meat production (factory
farmed cattle), dairy
farming, poultry farming,
by promoting processing,
consumption and marketing
at local level ;
- fishing products by
upgrading the existing
equipment, setting up
and operating aquaculture
farms ;
- biofuels.
- To promote the creation
and development of SMI
and SME in the field
of agricultural production,
processing and marketing
of local products ;
- To inform and train
economic operators and
professional organisations
from the agricultural,
stock breeding and fishing
sectors;
- To promote research,
application and quality
enhancement in production,
processing and manufacturing
in order to better penetrate
external markets;
- To develop trade
through exports and
investment by establishing
and enhancing partnership
links between the North
and South in the financial,
industrial and commercial
areas, in order to increase
financial resources
and create wealth and
jobs.
